The objective of Emotional Wellness Services (EWS) at IIMA is to support the emotional wellness and mental health concerns of IIMA students, staff, faculty, and community members. By registering for and utilizing the services offered by EWS, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1.1 EWS will facilitate counselling and other wellness services to support mental health and emotional well-being of service recipients.
1.2 The services provided are not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment by a licensed psychiatrist/medical professional.
2.1 Information shared in counselling sessions will be kept confidential between recipient and counsellor.
Personal information will not be shared outside of EWS without recipient’s consent, except in situations required by law or IIMA norms/protocols, including but not limited to:
2.2 Recipients may consent in writing to the sharing of their information in case of transfer to a new counsellor.
2.3 EWS reports may include information on aggregates (usage, themes, and such); there will be no disclosure of individual data in reports.
3.1 The recipient is required to provide at least one emergency contact on initiating counselling services.
3.2 Recipients are required to mail the following information to ews@iima.ac.in on initiation of counselling services:

In case a recipient is not able to mail this information on initiation of services, the same will be collected from them by the counsellor or EWS office-manager.
In case an emergency contact is not provided by the recipient or is unavailable, the concerned office may be contacted to provide such information in emergencies.
3.3 Emergency contact and/or Institute Authority will be contacted in the following circumstances:

5.1 Services offered by EWS are free of charge for full-time, residential IIMA students, staff, faculty, and community members.
6.1 Counselling is a collaborative process and specific outcomes cannot be assured.
6.2 Recipients are encouraged to actively participate and be honest in sessions.
6.3 Recipients must inform the counsellor of any changes in their mental or physical health that may affect the counselling process.
6.4 Recipients must inform the counsellor if they are taking mental health support from any other counsellor/therapist/psychiatrist/medical professional and if they are on any medication which may affect the counselling process and service.
7.1 Either party (recipient or counsellor) may terminate the counselling relationship at any time.
7.2 The counsellor reserves the right to terminate services if the recipient engages in behaviour that is disruptive or harmful during sessions.
8.1 The counsellor is not liable for decisions or actions taken by the recipient outside of sessions.
8.2 Counselling outcomes depend on various factors, including the recipient’s engagement and external circumstances.
9.1 If sessions are conducted online/remotely, the recipient is responsible for ensuring a secure and private setting.
9.2 The counsellor is not liable for breaches of confidentiality due to technical failures or security issues on the recipient’s end.
11.1 This portal does not capture or store discussions engaged in during counselling sessions.
By availing the services provided by EWS, the recipient acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
